Day 077: A busy busy Day!!

Well its been a very busy day today!! Started off dropping Charlie at work.

Then headed to Livingston to meet Tom to help him with his college work, he has a number of portraits to be taken in 'different' locations. For my shot I was sat on the floor of a radio controlled car race track holding a Wii steering wheel! (The shot can be seen on Toms Large Format Blog http://largeformat.ifotou.co.uk/)

Tom then had a shoot lined up with Lacey Demure which I went along to help him out with at the Brickworks in Pumpherston. The shot can be seen on his 365 Blog here : http://my365.ifotou.co.uk/

After this I met the lovely Charlie for lunch and then met Judi and Jaclyn who I have worked with before.We decided to go along to the Brickworks where I was earlier in the day with Tom. We got a variety of shots but this was my fave just for comedy value (both the girls are dancers and I found this old Dancemat in the ruins, so thought a shot was in order!!)

Day 075: Devil Holly

Cannot quite remember why I took tonight's shot! Holly was running round i THINK with a tissue in her mouth which at the time was pretty hilarious:)

Anyways this was taken on the mobile hence the small delay, and the result was these evil eyes!! Not the best shot but made me giggle!!

Day 074: Dinner Party

We had Emma and Jon over for a long over due dinner at mine tonight.

Tomato Soup, Followed by Honey Mustard Chicken Pasta and then Emma made an Apple Pie to follow. All washed down with a nice vintage Red :) Hmmmmmm YUM YUM!!!

All that was left was the washing up lol!!!!

Day 073: Car Boot Sale

So today's image is from the Car Boot Sale that Charlie and I did.

It was a cold and blustery day but I think we made about £40. It was....an experience!! Everyone decends on you as you arrive before you even set up!! A little scary lol!! But a good day!!!

Day 072: ASDA - Sandpiper

Nothing superstitious about today's shot!!

Today's shot was taken in the evening whilst trying to get change from various establishments for tomorrows car boot sale.

Asda were my saving grace!! THANK YOU ASDA!!

Day 071: Money Money Money

SO been getting ready for the Car Boot Sale on Saturday.

Raided the piggy banks for loose change etc. Took some of the 10pence's and had a wee play.

This was shot about f3.2 handheld and lit from the halogen fire (hence a little movement)

Think i might try something like this again but light it differently and use the f1.8 lens and a tripod.

Day 070: Tree Line

So we arrived back in Scotland early hours of this morning!!

After a long sleep to catch up after being up for around 42 hours!! I went out to meet Charlie for lunch as a wee suprise.

This was taken close to where she works, have drive past it a few times and always been intrigued so thought I would finally shoot it:)

I have a thing for trees and think I might go back and revisit this place in the future, maybe when in full bloom.

Day 069: We'll Always have Paris!!!

Ahhhh we will always have Paris.

Todays shot was taken whilst on a Day Trip to Paris with Tom Alex and Scott. We just flew into Paris Beauvois for the day. After supping a pint at 5am in Prestwick Airport we then headed over the channel with Ryanair and arrived in Paris Beauvois where we headed into town and spent the day visiting the sites mainly some very quaint streets, the cathedral and of course some nice wee cafes.

One of which we seemed to become friends with a very nice french man who on seeing all our camera gear decided to recollect most of his photographic experiences to us. And took us on a wee tour to see a few interesting statues!!! This was shot down one of the little side streets!!
Made me think of a certain someone :)

This was the same show with the boys outside :)

Day 068: Sleeping Beauty

So Charlie had a shoot today. Medieval theme and (with her permission) i decided to get a few shots once she came home in her wee medieval dress.

She looked very cute :)

Oh and to the right Sleeping Beauty awakes.

Day 067: Black Bull Pre Paris

Myself and Charlie met up tonight with Tom, Scott and Alex tonight to run over things for Paris.

Had a nice wee drink and whilst sitting back decided to get this as the image for the day. Was back lit by the headlights from someones car outside.

Day 066: Echofela EP Launch

So tonight was the launch night of Echofelas EP for which I shot the artwork (will post something shortly on the other blog when its running)
Was a great night and took a LOT of photos lol! This was one of my faves from the night and shows three of the boys.

Evening was very enjoyable and wish the boys every luck with the new single. Below is a wee mail from Jenni (Fiance of Graeme in the Band) Please help out and help them get into the Charts!!!

Day 065: Wait for the Green Man

Took Charlie to work today and some wee little ****** crossed the road without looking. I beeped as I was close to clipping him and got the DIRTIEST look as well as being followed and attempted to be stared out at the lights.

Some people really need to learn to cross the road!

Day 064: Trading Standards

Don't you just hate the fact that when you get to the till the item never costs the same!!!

My two twirls ended up costing me £1.38 :(

Not chuffed!!

Day 063: Falkirk Wheel

Todays shot was taken whilst out for a drive this afternoon with Charlie's Uncle Gordon.

We drove in the back entrance and headed to the top of the wheel where the Firth and Forth comes in through a tunnel.

This was shot as 3 images and then composited together. There are a few others which I will put on the other blog (to be started very soon!!!)

I like the way the colours on the path on the right leading up to it have come out!!

Day 062: Got Milk

Hmmmm today's picture was a BIT of a moral dilemma.

Whilst I was out meeting Charlie for lunch I took wee detour on the way home just for an explore. I pulled into a side street round the corner from Asda and was just waiting when a Grahams milk lorry went by and a cage of milk came flying out of the side door. SO picture the scene about 30 lots of 4 pint milk strewn across the road and a cage in the middle of the road.

My dilemma was A) Jump out of the car and get a picture of all the milk and the cage in the middle of the road or B) Stop a possible accident by removing cage and get all the milk out of the road.

I opted for B. SO this is the scene after the cage was removed and the milk bottles tidied up (you can see a few blue lids if you look close).

So good photo??....maybe not ....I think the image of the milk and the cage would have looked cool. But good Samaritan and good deed for the day?? I hope so.......

PS Colin says a real photographer would have taken a pic THEN helped :(

Day 061:The Traveller Returns

Colin today returned from his travels in South East Asia :)

This shot was taken of Colin relaxing on the couch with a cuppa and using the flash off camera fired by the triggers and through the home made softbox.

I took a wee drive out and about this evening and took a few shots playing with the softbox just of the car and out near the Falkirk Wheel but they were not that succesful, plus this was my favourite shot of the day :)

Day 060: Medieval Charlie

I think the title of this post should really have been Blue Peter.

This evening was spent with me turning the box from the takeaway into a mini soft box (pics to follow) And Charlie making a dress for a future shoot.

The attached picture is of Charlie with her little head dress that she made and working on some plaits on the dress. Ever resourceful :)

Day 059: Smashed Kitty

Todays shot was of a watch Charlie had bought online, however when it arrived the face was smashed via the post.

My job was to take piccy to send back to confirm that it was broken.

Day 058: Flash Attempt I

So we went to get the car today :) Now £108.28 lighter GRRRR!

Anyways on the way back stopped off and took a few pics :) This is the first shot I took. There are a few others but i quite like this as it was the first :)

Placed two flashes one just under the bridge and one a little further back to light the back ground a little.

Not the BEST shot but not bad for a wee attempt.

Day 057: Let there be LIGHT!!!

WOO HOO!!

Okay my girlfriend rocks !! it is official! My Valentines Day pressie arrived today!! Going to have a wee play with them tomorrow!!

Day 056: Young Love

So today was a bit of a hectic day. After the car deciding to reject the key on me last Wednesday I today took Rudolph to the Skoda garage to get looked at. I then took a walk up to Pumpherston to see the lovely Charlie and met her for lunch.

I was going to use a picture of the key for todays picture but i took this one today on the camera phone and thought it was rather damn cute :)

PS (Getting the car back on Friday and going to cost £108.28 for a new key to be delivered and coded :( )

Day 055 : Every shoe tells a story!

Ok so the story goes I was tidying out one of the cupboards trying to find the spare car key!!

I stumbed on a backpack which I checked in case the keys had fallen in, no keys but Charlies shoes that have been missing about 11 months now. So this picture was taken and zapped across to one now very happy girlfriend.

Day 054: 2 for 1

Okay so today in for a rare treat I could not decide on which picture to post so today we have a 54A and B.

The first shot is of Charlie and her wee sister Natasha. I was lucky enough to be invited along to Charlies shoot with Tom today to sit in, It was at Duncans studio in Pumpherston area, and along with myself there was Charlie, Natahsa, Tom and Alex with Duncan popping back towards the end. I was able to get a few wee pics of Charlie and a couple of her and her sis. So here is the first.

Next, we all decided to get a shot of ALL of us. So using a 10 second exposure Tom set the camera on the tripod and held the trigger for the lights in his hands and we all jumped around like fools.

So in the photo we have Charlie, Keith, Natasha, Tom, Alex and Duncan. This was my fave I think for a few reasons,

Firstly there are a good few shots of all of us. And secondly Charlies facial expression top right is awesome!!

Day 053: Rabbit Nose

Okay so today is the first time i have uploaded for a while BUT all photos have been shot! So just a case of getting all online

Todays shot was one of Charlie. We went to the Borders to see her Brother for his birthday but we arrived a little early so had a drive and got some nice shots out in a wee country estate, which I am going to get on my other blog which I have just started, Of all the shots this one just cried out to me! Something very cute and individual about it :)

Day 052: Get Away!!

So yesterday pics was the pampering goods from Lush.

Today we actually put them to use! There are a few shots of me from the day a few self portraits, but this for me was the best. After chasing Charlie round the room with the camera i managed to get this one :)

Day 051: Pampering

Whilst Charlie and I were out picking a few things up in Ocean Terminal, we decided to take a wander round lush and after a wee bit of sales patter from the assistant we opted to have a night in of pampering.

Got some cleansers, toners face masks and moisturisers

Well us photographers do need to look after our skin :)

Day 050: River City

Okay so todays shot was taken whilst on the River City set for the day. Sat in this rather cold old bus all day. Was ok though some good people to work with and some good banter :)

Did not want to risk taking any pics on set. So this was the best I could do :)

Day 049: Day out with Gordon

Today took a wee drive out with Unclem Gordon. We visited Inverkeithing, North Queensferry and then over to South Queensferry.

This shot was taken down on the slip. 15 second exposure and then darkened down a wee bit in photoshop.

Day 048: Cant be comfy

Very confused as thought I had taken something else for today...but cannot find it. So have this pic that I snapped of Holly today sitting in that does not look like the comfiest of poses!!

Holly seems to be appearing in the blog lots !! SOrry folks! And I have realised myself and after a comment or two that the blog is starting to be full of some .....shall we say not so good shots.

I want the blog to be me making an effort to take a photo a day, but at the same time do not want it to be just any old shot, something which I think i may have fallen prone to on many an occasion so far. So I will try my best from now to put a little more effort into it and plan some of the shots.

Day 047: Hug in a Mug

Took quite a few photos today. And though this is maybe not technically the best its my favourite from the day.

Charlie bought this jacket at the wekeend after a little persuassion from myself! I REALLY think it just looks like the Batchelors Hug in a Mug advert (hence shes hiding her head) For anyone that cannot remember it it was an advert for Cup A Soup http://www.agreatbighuginamug.co.uk/

Click on TV advert and you will see what I mean. Also for any Hollyoaks fans it looks a little like a jacket that Carmel sometimes wears :)

Day 046: LOVE / HATE

Todays is a LOVE HATE image!!

The picture is of Charlies Ventolin inhaler.

Charlie suffers from Asthma, and just lately has been struggling a wee bit. This is her lifeline.

Hence I LOVE it cause without it I might not have her!

But I HATE it because I dont like her having to rely on it :(

Day 045: In Training

So...today is Valentines day so you would think that this would be some mushy image of me and Charlie.

BUT to save all your poor souls from that!! Here is a shot of Holly.

The three of us took a wee drive out to Newhaven and just had a wander around the harbour. This shot was taken of Holly walking along outsife the Loch Fyne restaurant. She has a fear of bridges and open slats, so Charlie was trying to get her over her fear a little bit and she did really well.

Day 044: REALLY!!!

Ok so Charlie and I were out today doing a little window shopping and popped into a shop on Princes Street.

On wandering to the back of the store (Debenhams we think) found this little baby!! NO PHOTOSHOP here! But possible the smallest escalator in the world lol!!

Day 043: Graveyard Shift

Took a drive out to see Charlie today for lunch at work.

On the way back took a wee jaunt just off the beaten track and found this small graveyard. It seemed so beautiful but also so eerie with the snow.

Had a wee wonder around the gravestones. Thought this image had to be black and white to put across the atmosphere of the place.

Day 042: Rudolph the Red Nosed White Horse....

Todays image is of a now empty :) bottle of rather tasty beer :)

This was a present from the one and only Tom Thomson for my Christmas.

HAd been chilling nicely in the fridge and was enjoyed today with dinner! Was LOVELY!!!!!!!

Day 041: Out with Colin

Colin is off on his holidays in the next couple of days so we went out for a wee drive today and ended up in Callendar park taking a few shots.

This was one of my faves just trying to get the colour breaking through the trees.

Day 040: Holly and the Snowball

So this evening about 10 om we started to get snow.

After about an hour it was getting quite thick! I popped out with Holly and built a large snowball (about 2ft diameter). It was going to be the bottom of my snowman but Holly had different ideas!!

Thisis all that was left by the time i went in and got the camera!!

Day 039 : Staples

Went with Charlie to visit her Nana and Papa's todya and saw all these one the road outside!! Quite Random......

Day 038: Tea Leaf

So we have a tea leaf in the house! Holly has taken to stealing my socks!! Her latest Swag at her feet!

Shes a braver dog than me! I know where those socks have been!!

Day 036: Lesson

Todays shot was taken of Holly (I think shes starred in the most photos now lol) I was spending the evening showing Colin how to use the 400D ahead of him going off on his travels. Was showing him a few bits and pieces when Holly decided to come and say hello!!

Day 035; Give us this day our daily Bread

So for my birthday one of my wonderful present was a breadmaker which i have been making the most of, But my best friend Emma advised me to try making the dough in the breadmaker. Taking it out and letting it rise and then baking it in the oven. THis was the result!! What you think. Looks very rustic :)

Day 034: With a little help from my friends.

Colin helped me set this one up. Was trying to get a shot of myself for my a passport sized photo to join the local swimming pool! This was the outcome and hence why i stay THIS side of the lens.

Day 033: At Loggerheads

Charlie was on a coure in Glasgow today so I decided to have wee wonder to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. It was closed the whole time that I was in Glasgow and reopened about a year after I left and moved to Edinburgh. These two caught my attention, and just pictured them there for all eternity caught in a fierce frantic battle! Also made me think of Night at the Museum where everything comes alive. I wonder what these two get upto at night!!

Day 032: WOOF

Today was a day of dog pictures. The first was taken in Callender Park and was for a friend of Colins and is going forward for magazine publication. That was going to be the main photo of the day but we then took Holly with us to her Nana's where we got a few shots and she came out with this wee belter!! I think its a real cutie!!

Day 031: Get your tail

Trying to get holly catching her tail!! She managed the task, my wee camera phone could not handle the task though :(

Day 030: Salmond on Ice

Was out today covering some news stuff. Alex Salmond was meeting with the Scottish and Canadian Teams to announce funding as part of the Homecoming Scotland. This was one of my faves, unfortunately I missed the First Minister falling over on the ice a few minutes earlier!!
