Day 030: Salmond on Ice
Was out today covering some news stuff. Alex Salmond was meeting with the Scottish and Canadian Teams to announce funding as part of the Homecoming Scotland. This was one of my faves, unfortunately I missed the First Minister falling over on the ice a few minutes earlier!!

Today I had a wee wonder around the countryside with Dougie my old work colleague. And i had a nice picture of a bucket to post.....However I was told last week that I was being taken out on a date on Saturday but not told anymore details. After a few wee clues and a magical mystery tour I arrived at South Queensferry and was taken to Bella Vista for a BEAUTIFUL meal with the girl of my dreams. This was the view from just outside the restaurant!!It truely was breathtaking and a wonderful suprise!!!

Day 022: Going Green
Todays shot is from the end of the street. Went out for a wee walk today and to take a few bits to the recycling. I liked the colours and thought it would make a nice image of the day.
Have used a little selective colouring to make the bins stand out a wee bit, think its worked quite well.
Remember people! Go Green RECYCLE!!!

Day 021:Greyfriars Bobby
Todays image is if Grey Friars Bobby the famous dog that stood at his masters grave for 14 years after his master died.
The reason for todays post was that this morning on Forth One they were discussing that someone had said that Greyfriars Bobby was a fictional character. However as you'll see from the link above he was REAL and used to leave the grave at 1pm each day when the One O'Clock gun went off :)

Day 010: Paparazzi
Charlie and I spent this evening on a PR job. It turned out to be a 50th Birthday Party (or celebration as it was to be known). Our role was to stand on the red carpet being the paparazzi all ready to meet them.
After we had completed the assignment we drove to Glasgow for a friends party. But before we went into the bar could not pass up the chance to get a few shots of Charlie. Shot in sepia using the onboard settings, I think it gave the desired 40's kind of feel.

Day 009: And the wheels keep turning
So the cars been making a horrendous noise since we came back from London. Had it confirmed last week it was the wheel bearing, so dropped into the garage and an afternoon and 150 notes lighter here we are.
This is the centre of the old bearing thought it would make an interesting shot, hopefully it has :)
Have desaturated the photo a wee bit for a more rustic and worn look. Shot was taken at 1/6 sec at f1.8 ISO1600.

Day 007: Down and Down
As I passed by Tesco today I noticed the price of petrol had dropped again, only by 1p but Every Little Helps;). Keep wondering if its gonna keep falling... fingers crossed it will we need all the help we can just now! Today's photo was taken using my Nokia N95. I plan to take the majority of my shots with the Canon 10D and 40D but i hope to try out a number of other cameras., as well as having the camera phone on me most of the time. And you never know I might even get film in there somewhere......
Day 006: Robin Hood
Spent the day today getting my flat tidied and cleaned up! And getting rid of a few things, so took some shots of stuff to go on ebay. This is a set I had from when I did Archery a few years ago in Glasgow. Something I loved and would certainly like to get back to but at the moment its just sitting under the bed gathering dust so it might be better in someone elses possesion.

Whilst out at the new Asda in Leith today I noticed CSO Apache docked in the harbour. It is a large pipe laying vessel, and pretty impressive I think.

Day 004: Gimme the Keys Ill drive!
After picking Holly up from her Christmas break she decided that she wanted to go for a wee drive!! Fortunately her little legs are not quite long enough to reach the pedals!!
Day 003: Red's Own
Back in December Charlie bought a boat on Ebay. We picked it up whilst down for Christmas seeing family. From a very sweet man called Red. Hence the name Red's Own. He built it himself and sailed it every year for 8 years on the Thames.
Was hoping for a shot on the water! But as the ice is too thick at the moment I feel we may have to wait a wee bit!
Day 002: Hey Nosey !!
After getting back from Paris late evening on the 2nd drove to Dad's and met the newest additions to the family. Two Jack Russels about 6 months old. Misty and Magic. This is Misty trying to get as close to camera as possible. Not the best picture maybe but showed off Mistys inquisitive nature.
Her wee brother Magic was around and I am sure they will make another appearance at some point!!

Day 001: Happy New Year
The first photo of 2009!!
Taken whilst in Paris for the New Year with Charlie. The image was taken at about 30 seconds after midnight but I never changed the time on the camera to incorporate the time change (GMT + 1) so hope that I have not failed before I started out! The Eiffel Tower was lit up every night to commemorate France's six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union, which began. Just after midnight once the lights had been flashed for 5 minutes andthe stars had all gone out it began to return to its normal colour. Had a FAB new year!!! A little cold but very enjoyable!!

And so it begins!
Ok so here we are 2009! Where does time go!!? I know that this will be showing as the 6th (or maybe even 7th now lol) but due to being away in Paris and taking a few days to set the blog up its been a late starter! But I have taken a photo every day since the 1st and hope I can achieve this for the whole year!!! Whilst I aim for the highest standards in my photos I feel some of the shots that will be displayed with just be more for fun on occasions!Like to say a big thank you to Tom Thomson who was kind of my inspiration in all this. His 365 blog can be found at ifotouscotland365.blogspot.com
Many thanks and hope you enjoy.
